Originally from a tiny Kansas town of 800 people (now 799, but who’s counting?), pianist and entertainer MIA has been making music since she climbed onto the piano bench at the age of three. Today, she brings audiences across the country to their feet with unforgettable piano experiences that blend dazzling virtuosity, engaging storytelling, and contagious fun. Equally at home performing Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Jerry Lee Lewis, or the unforgettable melodies of Broadway and Hollywood, MIA has built a career that defies categories. Whether performing in a concert hall, theater, or intimate cabaret setting, every performance is driven by one goal: creating an unforgettable connection with her audience.

Behind the sparkle is a lifetime of serious musicianship. MIA studied at Kansas State University, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, before earning her Doctor of Musical Arts degree (DMA) at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, before becoming a post-graduate piano fellow with the New World Symphony.

Her career has taken her around the world as a soloist, chamber musician, educator, and opera coach, collaborating with organizations including the Metropolitan Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca (Italy), and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz (Austria). Those experiences don’t stay behind the scenes—they become part of the stories, humor, and behind-the-curtain moments she shares from the stage.

A passionate creator as well as performer, MIA founded Miami Piano Circle, producing and directing original concert spectaculars featuring ten grand pianos on stage simultaneously.

When she’s not at the piano, you’ll likely find her cycling, falling down on skis, or getting gloriously lost.
